We’re delighted to share a stunning piece of modular design featured in a project currently under construction by W2. The interiors of this project have been fully designed and detailed by our team at W2. From Kitchen cabinetry, ensuites, bespoke wardrobes and through to the stairs and lighting - it has been a true labour of love for our team and our clients. When the right mix of opportunity and creativity comes together, extraordinary spaces are created.

Our clients for this project are truly one-of-a-kind. As passionate art collectors, they were determined to create a unique and beautiful home. We’re incredibly fortunate to play a role in bringing their vision to life.

We commissioned local New Zealand lighting designers, Nightworks Studio to create a bespoke Code Cascade chandelier centrepiece of this space. The chandelier features warm white spherical globes and Oamaru stone pieces, all elegantly connected by hand patinated Midnight Brass rods. These mouth-blown glass lights – which reference the dots and dashes of morse code – sit effortlessly on the solid brass rods, which hang an impressive 5.5 meters from the ceiling.

Complementing this statement chandelier is a handcrafted sculptural staircase. Our W2 team took great pleasure in designing this stair, which resembles a sculpture in its own right. Constructed from 6mm thick blackened steel by Hall Fabrication and expertly installed by GB Construction this staircase is both functional and artistic. A delightful detail is the midnight Brass colour of the stair was purposefully matched with the hand patina of Midnight Brass in the chandelier, showing a beautiful cohesion between the two elements.

The use of natural materials and a simple, modular design approach creates a harmonious blend of these two features. The interplay of soft and hard, light and dark, solid and porous, steel, stone, and glass, creates an exceptional space. We extend our gratitude to everyone who contributed to piecing this remarkable space together for our clients.
